Hluboké Mašůvky
The Moravian Painted Ceramics (or Pottrery) Culture
The settlement of Hluboké Mašůvky, belonging to the Culture of Moravian Painted Ceramics, has yielded many Neolithic Venuses, the most famous of them expressing gestures of worship.
It was a rather big, (for some time fortified) settlement, about 330 long and 180 m wide. It is now located on the western edge of the village of Hluboké Mašůvky. Nowadays, part of it is a built-up area, part is a field and part is a wood. Hluboké Mašůvky is located in the region of the town of Znojmo (34,000 inhabitants). (Here is the Wikipedia website on Znojmo.) Znojmo is about 60 km south-west of Brno , and Hluboké Mašůvky lies about 8 km north of Znojmo.
