Johann Gregor Mendel and Hynčice

J.G. Mendel, called ‘the father of genetics’, was born in Hynčice, now a part of Vražné (Moravia, the Czech Republic), in 1822.

In Hynčice, there is Mendel’s Museum in the house where he was born (link here, in Czech; the English version did not work when I visited the webpages in March 2015).
